During 2016-2017, I worked with the City of Atlanta in the Information Technology (IT) department as the Program Manager of the "SmartATL" Smart Cities Program on outcome-driven technology across City departments with activities including:
- Use Cases and Key Performance Indicators - Led "use case" and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development, working with City departments to understand their technology and how exactly outputs and outcomes can be delivered, specific focus on user groups such as residents, technology community, research/academia, government partners, etc.
- Quality of Life Outcomes - Connected technology with key quality of life (QoL) outcomes in transportation, public safety, environment, operational efficiency, equity, economic development, and citizen/business engagement. Recommending ways that City executive leadership could leverage cross-departmental QoL delivery to monitor progress and encourage departments to work together for joint outcomes.
- Cross-departmental Responsibility - Recommended ways data can help "close the loop" between departments with core responsibilities in planning/policy and implementation/maintenance to actively connect responsibility across multiple City departments.
